Customer quilt

Here is the finished product of a quilt I posted some photos of earlier.  It's called "Pony Express"

The whole quilt.  Isn't it pretty?
Just some line dancing
Shadow stars quilted in
flower effect from cc'ing around the block
The center attraction.  Cross hatched and free form vines and leaves frame

My customer did an excellent job piecing the quilt and I hope she is happy with the quilting I added to it.

Blessed day to you all!

Pony Express quilt

You know how every now and then you start working on a project, and it just doesn't speak to you?  I've been working on this quilt for over 2 weeks, and I've struggled with every single block.  I've been frustrated, but the quilt is so pretty.  My customer Karen made it, and the colors are great, and she did a great job of piecing it, so I wanted to post some photos of it.

Hope you enjoyed looking.  I think I'll have it done by tomorrow, and Karen will get to take it back home.  I hope she likes it.

Ya'll have a blessed day!  And thanks for looking,
Leslie

The baby quilt

I finally finished the baby quilt!  About time, Lucy was born 2 days ago :)  The quilting itself didn't take me too long, it's just the binding I always get bogged down on.  I hate doing the binding.  Think it would be OK for a long armer to hire someone else to do the binding?  HaHa.

Anyway, Lucy is just adorable, and here are a few photos of her new quilt.  Not showing the quilt with the baby for the mom's privacy.

this is the back side.  The quilting doesn't really show up though.

This is the label I made for the back.  It's from the shower invitation, I just added the made by, and for sections.

It's a lot cuter in person.  The quilting is done with bright pink thread, but just doesn't show up well in the photos.  It's a fun quilt, and Mom and Dad are thrilled.  I'm pretty sure they are just thrilled with the baby, but we'll just act like it the quilt.  LOL

Ya'll have a blessed day, and I'll be back

Table topper for practice

Well, I got some new rulers for curved cross hatching, in the other day, so I found an old table topper I pieced a few years ago, and played with the rulers.  Here are a few photos.  They work pretty well, but I just have to learn to hold them still.  I had a problem with them sliding and that tends to mess up the continuity of the cross hatch.  Glad this was just for practice.  I'd hate to have to rip it out and start over. :)

Hannah's Hat

Wow!  It's been a while since I've blogged anything.  I've been pretty busy on the long arm this past week.  That's good for business, but it's taking me away from my piecing and sewing which kind of makes me sad ;(
I just finished another Texas Tech t-shirt quilt, but forgot to take pictures of it before the customer picked it up.  She was in a hurry for it, as she was giving it to her grandson for his birthday gift.  I'll just say it turned out really good.

I don't have any other pictures of quilts right now, but thought I would share with you some pictures of a little hat I made my grandaughter.
Here she is wearing it before it was finished.  She was so excited to put it on she ran downstairs to show it to Mommy and Daddy.  Daddy took the picture with his phone.  Isn't her smile just the cutest?

Here is the finished hat.  She hasn't gotten to try it on yet.  I hope the flower isn't too overpowering!

Quilter's Camera

I'm excited!  My online quilting friend Bonnie, who encouraged me to even start a blog, is now sharing with me her knowledge on how to make a camera system for under the longarm.  It's used to see your stitches under the quilt while you are quilting.  That way you can see if your stitches are not good before you get done, and then find out they are bad and have to rip out.  I hate ripping out!!  Nothing worse than quilting along thinking it looks great, then rolling the quilt forward and finding nasty little nests of thread on the back!!  This camera system will let me see the stitching as I go.  Bonnie has the whole set up shown on her blog.  Ya'll should check it out.  http://www.bloomingquilts.com/  I'll post pictures when I get it set up.  I ordered all the parts tonight.

I've been trying to work on the baby quilt an hour or so everyday when I get home from work.  I didn't get anything done Saturday because of the basketball game, and I missed Sunday, so I could go to church.  Hopefully, I'll get some done when I get home this morning.  I'm more than half done, so I might could get it done by Wednesday, and then get the next one loaded.  The next one is a Texas Tech T-shirt quilt and the customer needs it done by the end of the week, because she is giving it to her son when they go to see him next week.  YIKES!  Deadlines make me nervous!

  Ya'll have a blessed day!

No new quilty news today.

Well, I have no new quilty news today.  For any of you that don't know, I am a hugh Texas Tech fan, and basketball is my sport.  It's been a very painful year for my teams:(  The women started off with a bang, and then just started losing when we got to conference games.  They mostly lose by just a couple of points.  But, a few times it's like they forgot to show up at the game.  They played Baylor (the number one team in the nation) both times closer than anyone else has done, and then they turn around and lose the next game to someone they should beat.

Then, the men's team has a new coach, coach Gillispie, and he's good, but he has a very young, and mostly short, team to work with.  They have been coming along though, and today, they almost beat Texas, but lost in overtime.  It was heartbreaking for them.  I so wanted them to get a win.  They need a confidence boost.  But, they did play soooo much better than they have been, so I am still proud of the growth they have shown this season.

Anyway, I got up early to go to the men's game, and it went into overtime, so I barely got home in time to get dressed and get to work on time.  No time on the long arm at all.

Here's hoping my RAIDERS do better next year, and ya'll have a blessed day!
